Founder, Strategy & Commercial
Claude Waddington is the Founder of The Palindromic, where he leads strategy, commercial & product development, and client engagement. With more than 15 years of experience across healthcare, life sciences and technology, he works with organisations navigating the gap between strategic ambition and operational reality; turning complex ideas into practical systems, clearer decisions and measurable business value.
His career has spanned global consultancy companies, healthcare organisations, technology providers and Microsoft ecosystem partners. Across these environments, Claude has worked on commercial excellence, go-to-market strategy, customer and employee experience, healthcare professionals and patient engagement models, omnichannel engagement and business transformation.
His work is grounded in tangible operational challenges. These have included helping pharmaceutical and medical device teams design global technology architectures that bring together data from CRM platforms, customer data platforms, branded portals and digital engagement channels; developing more adaptable approaches to modular content and healthcare-professional education; and connecting marketing, medical, commercial and technology teams around shared objectives. He has also contributed to work involving clinical-trial participation, social enablement, first-party data activation, next-best-action models, digital health and learning and development.
Claude’s perspective is that technology should make organisations more capable, not simply more complicated. He is particularly interested in the point where artificial intelligence, automation and human judgement meet: reducing administrative friction, improving documentation, strengthening decision-making and enabling people to focus on the work that requires experience, empathy and accountability. This principle shapes The Palindromic’s approach to AI agents, intelligent workflows, digital operating models and Microsoft Copilot adoption.
Within life sciences, Claude has been a consistent advocate for more flexible and locally relevant engagement models. He challenges monolithic technology and service structures that restrict creativity and agility, arguing instead for connected partner ecosystems, reusable content, unified data and solutions designed around the realities of individual markets. His industry participation includes Reuters Events Pharma, UBIQ Events, NEXT Pharma Summit, TT LifeSciences Conferences, and other leading pharmaceutical and healthcare conferences and forums, where commercial, digital and medical leaders examine the forces reshaping healthcare.
Behind this work is a personal commitment to creating meaningful progress in areas including cancer, diabetes and HIV care. Claude brings curiosity, transparency and an ecosystem mindset to his leadership, with a strong belief that lasting innovation comes from specialist expertise, trusted partnerships and the discipline to avoid shortcuts.
Based on Pico Island in the Azores, Portugal, Claude founded The Palindromic, Unipessoal Lda as a deliberately focused, senior-led business operating at the intersection of strategy, technology and execution. Pico is more than the company’s location: it represents a different model for building an ambitious international business — one shaped by clarity, resourcefulness, proximity to nature and a preference for purposeful work over unnecessary complexity.
From this Atlantic base, Claude works with clients and collaborators across markets, bringing enterprise discipline together with local empathy. His objective is straightforward: to help organisations move beyond experimentation, embed technology into the way work actually happens and build the confidence and capability required for sustainable change.
